Welcome to The Ovations
The Canberra and Queanbeyan region has a vibrant independent performing arts community.
Every year, hundreds of actors, singers, dancers and behind-the-scenes creatives put months of dedication into rehearsals and performances to the delight of thousands of grateful audience members. And they do it for love!
- The Ovations is a not-for-profit organisation formed in 2020 to meet a need in the Canberra/Queanbeyan performing arts community.
- Membership of the Ovations is open to independent theatre and dance communities in the Canberra/Queanbeyan region.
- Members’ productions are judged by panels of experts—highly respected, local practitioners including artists, creatives, crew, arts administrators, and producers.
- The Ovations Awards presentation celebrates the successes of member companies and individuals throughout the previous year. The Ovations Awards cover over 30 categories for theatre, musicals, and dance performance and technical.
